Description
Looking for something different? This is the Wintec R1030 from Wintec of America in Long Beach California. This circa 1970’s receiver certainly has a unique look to it- something akin to an early computer. It outputs 30 watts per channel. The red lights on the left are for signal strength and tuning direction. This particular model was made by Kyocera for Wintec. While not perfect, this unit plays strongly in both channels. The FM tuner does not perform well and will need work. Physically, this unit is in very presentable condition. The main cabinet deficiencies are pictured. The onboard antenna has broken off, but the tuner still receives stations well. All lights appear to be functional.Be aware that this receiver will need some work and is sold strictly AS-IS.
The Wintec R-1030 has speaker settings of A, B and A+B and it also has a mid tone control in addition to the usual bass and treble controls. It features a Hi filter, Loudness button, FM mute button, Tape monitor A and B buttons and two Aux inputs.
A friend of mine who knows vintage audio quite well advised that these units were actually manufactured by Luxman and re-badged by Wintec, but since there’s little information on the company or the receiver, I haven’t verified that. If you happen to have any further information on it, please message me and I’ll update the listing accordingly.
Your order will be well packed using Styrofoam sheeting, then double boxed, although local pickup is encouraged, if possible. I manage an easily-findable storage facility in the Portland, Oregon metro, so you can pick up right in the office during business hours. I also live on-site, so evening pick-up is also possible.
If you get the wrong item or it arrives damaged, please message me through eBay and attach pictures—including pictures of the box or any damaged packing materials, if applicable. I will immediately fix the problem or file a claim with the shipper, provide them with before-and-after pictures, aggressively follow-up for you—then promptly issue a refund once the claim is paid.
Due to the age of this device and the uncertain nature of vintage electronics, this equipment is being sold AS IS with no returns or adjustments. This is NOT a new machine. As such, it does not come with any guarantee-- implied or written. Most on-line sales of vintage electronics happen under these exact conditions—I just felt the need to point it out so there are no misunderstandings or disappointments.
Domestic shipping charges are based on USPS rates. I do compare carriers before printing the label, and if I can get it to you cheaper, I will certainly do so.
Looking forward to doing business with you and having a chance to earn more of it in the future. I'm not a dealer-- just an enthusiastic audiophile who "funds his habit" by buying and selling on eBay. I absolutely LOVE this stuff, and you will find me to be a reasonable, fair-minded person to deal with.
