    Description

For your bidding consideration is this
very handsome 1938 Singer 66-8 with wrinkle finish.  This good looking guy I named Antonio.  Nothing frilly, flashy (well, maybe his face plate is pretty flashy) or feminine about these machines!  They had simple decals and this one still has them in wonderful condition.  The machine has been thoroughly gone over and cleaned inside and out.  The needle and presser foot bar are cleaned and oiled.  Tension was dismantled and cleaned.  Underside was cleaned and bobbin area was dismantled and cleaned and oiled.  His wonderful paint was cleaned and lightly oiled to bring out its original beauty.  There is no belt guard, as these earlier 66-8 models did not have one.  The hand wheel and bobbin winder are original to this machine.    Please note the foot pedal and the motor have the wrinkle paint.  The motor has been cleaned, the brushes cleaned and the wicks removed and cleaned and new lubricant added.  The machine sews very well, please look at my sewing samples.  I had dark blue thread in the top and green in the bobbin.  You can see the stitch is balanced and even front and back of the fabric.  It sewed through 8 layers of fabric with no issues.  The machine had its electrical redone at some time in its life.  Cords are all in good condition with no breaks or repairs.  Machine comes as pictured with one bobbin.
Thanks to a very kind eBay person, I was able to add this exact information on this machine:

The case is newly made for Antonio.  Solid wood construction and stained with a black gel stain with 3 coats of a protective sealer.  The machine just sits in the case, it is not attached.  The bottom of the case is covered with black suede and has rubber feet to prevent movement when sewing.  There is also a soft black case for the foot pedal so it will not scratch the machine or case.
I list 3 shipping options for you.  These machines are heavy and I have no idea what the shipping will be for you, it is calculated by eBay.  Fed Ex and UPS will most likely be your best options.  I do not charge handling, packaging or keep any possible overpayment in shipping.  I do having shipping discounts, and I always pass them on to the buyer.  Please ask any questions you might have before bidding.
Please ask any questions you might have before bidding on this machine.  I am always happy to answer questions and want you to be perfectly informed before you buy a machine.  If you are like me, owning a sewing machine is not just "owning a machine", but owning a partner in your creative endeavors.  I have owned numerous machines in my life, and finally have come to realize it is not the bells and whistles that make a machine, but consistency in what you want it to do time after time.  For me, that dependability is found in these solid vintage work horses.  Thank you for looking!
