Vintage Mertens Kunst Wood Children's Wall Decor Little Red Riding Hood made in Germany.
There is no date on this but according to the previous owner it is 50-60 years old. What a fun piece to display on your babies nursery wall or child’s bedroom or playroom!
It measures 7 1/2” long at its longest points and is approx 3 3/4” wide at its widest point which happens to be at the base.
It is made of wood and I believe it was hand painted. The colors are bright. There is a small chip on the flower and worn off paint on a couple of spots like the corner of the blue hanky and a corner of the base. You can also see the wood lines in the paint.
The back has a chip in the wood on the back of that same flower. The original hook is just hanging on. Someone has written in pen Red Riding Hood. It is stamped Mertens Kunst and says in German Rotkäppchen which means Little Red Riding Hood.
