Description
Sparkos Labs is now offering the BA312 Upgrade module for vintage Marantz Receivers from the 1970’s.Many of the Marantz receivers from the 70’s used an old, inferior integrated-circuit (IC) called the BA312. These components are no longer available today and are only obtainable from donor units.
We’ve designed a drop-in replacement for the BA312 using our discrete SS3601 op amp integrated into a custom adapter module that brings new life and performance to your vintage Marantz! Each Module requires minimal soldering/desoldering skills with NO CUTTING, NO KLUDGING and NO JUMPER WIRES! Just remove some parts, change some others, and install the BA312 adaptive module in place of the old BA312 IC.
Below are all the applicable models the upgrades work for currently:
Marantz 2250 , 2250B , 2265 , 2275 , 2285 , 2325 , 2330
Each Kit includes:
-Two (x2) BA312 Adaptive Modules Pre-Fit W/ Sparkos Labs SS3601 OP-Amps
-Four (x4) High Grade Audio Nichicon UKA/UKT capacitors and one (x1) Low Noise/Precision Vishay Carbon Film resistor.
-Easy to use printed Installation Directions
Basic soldering and desoldering electronic skills are required. We recommend you download a free service manual for your unit readily available online.

Marantz 2275 Tone Pre-Amp board upgrade
I wanted to express my 100% satisfaction on my purchase of the BA312 PE01 upgrade kit. I am a novice at electronics and soldering and I was debating on whether to take on the challenge or having my Audio Service guy install the kit onto my restored Marantz 2275. After reading the install instruction; I have decide to do the install myself. By taking my time and double checking my work; the installation took me about 3 hour total. The results are like comparing the difference between day and night. The best way to describe the sound is - the band is playing live right in front of me. I’m very happy with the results and looking forward to hearing all my old music again and rediscovering all the buried layers of sounds that I’ve missed before my upgrade. This is the best upgrade that you get for your vintage receiver - hands down.

Marantz BA312 op amp upgrade module.
I wanted to share my listening experience of this module upgrade i had installed in my 1976 Marantz 2275 Receiver.. First off the 2275 was fully restored, not just a 'cap job' ..Circuits tested, plotted on a scope and compaired results from the stock IC VS the module kit sold here.. All the Marantz tone is still here..What is gone is that analog blanket sound..You know the subdued fine dynamics that are present in modern higher end audio gear but lacking in old vintage gear when using fine detailed speakers.. What i have now is a vast improvement in Dynamics, more spacial depth and improved imaging over stock form..Personally i feel more information is getting through now and i would bet with the opamp module upgrades the signal to noise ratio overall has improved as well..I am not a Tec..i am a end user collector , analog audio lover..My only Receiver in my collection that can now hang with my US made early Marantz components..This module kit is a 'no brainer'..Next i will buy the ' kit' for my 2250b and transform that model from a nice sounding classic to a fantastic musical receiver as well..This is the upgrade to get, i can't say enough good things about my experience with this kit and now my enjoyable listening pleasure..
