  • Condition: This estate sale item is regal retro, in the 7 rows of varied-sized pearls. The backing is slightly discolored from age, could use a good swish in safe sudsy detergent, some pearls show light scrapes on surface.....absolutely normal wear! The hook and eye closure needs to be re-secured - the thread holding it is weak, and one side came loose. Rather than change the character, I leave it to you to re-stitch the closure, or change it! Check photos, this item may only be returned if misrepresented....and it is definitely vintage Japan!

    Cream (Faux?) Pearl Collar Made in Japan
    In the Style of Baar & Beards (but only labeled "Made in Japan")
    7 Rows of bright creamy pearls, neatly brought together at the
    back hook and
    eye closure - wonderful workmanship!
    (center row of pearls is made of larger size than the other six rows)
    In the Beautiful Style of Baar & Beards (but not labled as such!), this wonderful Faux Pearl Necklace or Collar is definitely vintage Japan....see photos and the sewn-in label on the reverse/underside. It is made with very bright and pearly beige-color pearls, absolutely ready to wear!  The underside or back shows a little more of its age.....as the part which would rest against one's skin, this shows a little discolor, but I think easily freshened with a safe, enzyme-based gentle detergent! As I was taking pictures, and loosened the hook and eye closure, the aged thread broke on one side....rather than disturbing the vintage look, I leave the re-stitching (very easy assignment!) to you..... It measures about 15" long, and the workmanship in attaching the pearls is meticulous!! Imagine this over a jewel neckline, chocolate brown cashmere sweater, or simple shift-type dress....even over a light coat collar.....or over the small collar of a neutral button down shirt! So many ways to express your "inner vintage" self! Please check photos for condition and style - item returnable only if misrepresented, as this is a vintage item, with normal signs of wear!!
