Pioneer's x2x and x3x lines are probably their most successful (sales and quality) of all their vintage models both today and when they were first released. First of all they are beautiful. The silverface with the blackout background for the tuner with the beautiful bright blue lights. Pretty much a perfect design. The 434 and the 535 were probably the most popular. A great mix of value and quality. But when we get to the 636 and the 737 that's where the sound quality really takes off. The first thing I noticed when I plugged it in and played it for the first time was how airy it sounded. All of a sudden there was so much space for all the instruments. They all had room to breathe. Not sure how they did it but it sounds amazing. This one has been cleaned inside and out, given a deoxit bath, and all functions tested and working perfectly. This is quite simply a great vintage receiver.Schematic and manuals can be found here:

A word about vintage electronics:
On everything I sell I check all the features to make sure everything functions as it should. If there is anything wrong I will clearly state that in the description. That being said, this is vintage electronic equipment. Most of these items are 40+ years old. It is standard policy anywhere that vintage electronic equipment is sold that it is “as is” and there are no returns. This is, as I stated, standard policy when purchasing vintage products of any type, especially electronics. It is unfortunate that I have to state this, but there are some buyers who will claim that the product is damaged or not functioning in order to get a partial refund after the transaction is completed. Also, the problem of “parts scalpers” is very prevalent in the vintage electronics marketplace. Sorry for being a Debbie-downer but all buyers must be aware of this “vintage policy” before they make their purchase. Thanks.
