60's Singer Touch n Sew
Model 603E
Good working Singer machine with metal gears.
I lubricated the gears to assure smooth running.
Comes with sturdy Singer case and foot pedal.
The cord is in very good condition, still soft.
The machine needs to be removed from the case in order
for the plug to be connected.
The bottom has feet and screws onto the bottom
of the machine. The center screw is missing.
The center part tends to look warped but does not
effect the sewing.  I tried some of the fashion disks.(see photo)
I used the center setting, fine stitch and stitch width
to the far right side. When you open the top, you see the
disk. Simply pull up. The new one fits over the raised pin
and snaps into place. The bobbin in self winding.
Simply push down the button next to the bobbin
and sew.  The thread winds onto the bobbin. There are white
lines to indicate when to stop. Release the button and
you're ready to sew.
There is a throat plate lever that raises the foot plate.
This allows for stitching on fine fabric.
When using the buttonhole attachment, you remove this
footplate and replace it with the extended one in the
buttonhole attachment box.
Comes with 7 bobbins.
This makes a great "beginner" machine since it's easy to operate.
