Description
This is a pristine 3/4 size Singer rotary hook model 99K portable hand-crank sewing machine in perfect working condition and is ~81 years old. This 99K was made in Great Britain during WW-II, it makes fine straight and neat stitches and is wonderful for hemming, quilting, ruffling, cording and many more stitches. It is ideal for upholstery, leather, and fabrics. It can sew any material/fabrics - Sews up to 6 layers of denim and up to 7mm thick layer of leather. The 99K is a lockstitch sewing machine and is a 3/4 size version of the established full-size Model 66K. It uses an identical mechanism and many of the same parts other than the basic body casting. This is Singer's first 3/4 size sewing machine to make use of "drop-in bobbin" technology. It is all cast-iron and steel and was built before the advent of planned obsolescence, and so they were designed to be repaired rather than replaced. In company literature, they were called "the woman's faithful friend the world over".
