SAP-1626 Source Assign Panel provides a convenient means of assigning any one (1) of twelve (12) intercom channels and/or three (3) program audio channels to twenty-six (26) individual or groups of intercom user stations. Viewed as a matrix switch, it transforms a basic 2-channel intercom system into a 15-channel system. When used as an intermediary between Series 800 (conference line) Master Stations and TW (Two-Wire) Intercom System user stations, the SAP-1626 distributes the master station channels to each group of user stations. While the master stations have multiple channel capability and can access a number of lines independently or simultaneously, user stations have only 2-channel capability. The SAP-1626 programs each user station to correspond with the same channels on the master stations. Once the channel assignments are made, the master station selectively communicates with any combination of user stations programmed on different channels. The SAP-1626 can also be used to assign channels in a 15-channel user station system configuration without master stations.
Three Types of SAP-1626 Channels:
2-Way 2-Wire Type Intercom Channels
DC Powered 2-Way 2-Wire Intercom Channels
Program Audio Channels
There are twelve (12) primary intercom channels and three (3) program or secondary intercom channels.
Three (3) program channels allow three (3) different program sources to be connected to a SAP-1626. TW user stations can be assigned these programs on their channel two connection (bottom row of switches).
If TW user stations are assigned one of the program channels with program not connected, the channel functions as an intercom channel.
In addition to twenty (20) outputs, there are six (6) additional outputs.
These outputs are intended primarily for cameras, but can be used for additional TW intercom stations or groups of stations.
These six (6) outputs are available on a 25-pin D connector on the back of the SAP-1626.
The SAP-1626 fits into a standard two (2) unit high 19” equipment rack. The front panel contains the thumb wheels used to accomplish the matrix switching.
The connections from the SAP-1626 are 50-pin telco and utilize the BOP-220 panel (not included) to convert to 3-pin XLR connectors.
