Superb large antique handmade Normandy Valenciennes lace & embroidery shawl collar in a warm creamy ecru, not pink as may appear in the photos...
Features an ornate, repetitive floral motif showcasing beautiful padded whitework embroidery trim meticulously stitched to wide handmade ruffled scalloped Valenciennes lace with a coordinated smaller version of the lace along the inside edge of the collar, and is finished off with a ruffled scalloped edge with picots all around.  This shawl collar is of refined quality and is well made...
Generously proportioned and finished all around.  Measurements are as follows:
~11&1/2" across the middle
~56" around the outside edge  (along the outermost whitework embroidery trim),
~83" along the outside ruffled lace edge
~43" around the inside edge (along the innermost white work embroidery trim)
Appears hardly used.  In overall very good-excellent condition with age yellowing, a few light spots, a rare scraggly thread, and a rare tiny break in the net.  Please enlarge photos for details.
