RARE COLLECTOR QUALITY, MADE IN USA,1968 FISHER 550T AM/FM STEREO RECEIVER WITH FACTORY OILED WALNUT CABINET.
This beautiful vintage receiver has been my everyday receiver for many years and all functions work perfectly. It is a later serial number unit from 1968 and is in excellent physical condition. It is one of the only units I have ever seen that still has all the gold printing around tuning and speaker selectors in perfect condition on the wood background.(See the Pictures). All front panel printing is perfect and the knob caps are all there and shiny and the bulbs are all working fine. The tuner is extremely sharp, outclassing any other receiver I have ever used, including the 500TX. The amplifier is very warm and tube like sounding. There is a slight minor narrow blemish in the top gold plated trim that is only visible from a top angle view as shown in the last picture. It is not visible from the front. The beautiful Oiled Walnut cabinet is an original factory model with the recessed bezel and gold plated vent grate.
These cabinets alone have sold for up to 0 on EBay..
The receiver is guaranteed to work upon arrival, but is AS-IS thereafter due to age. The caps were checked a few years ago, but you may wish to check them again. I am
downsizing due to my age and I am very sorry to have to sell this gorgeous unit. The receiver will be carefully packed in layers of small and large bubble wrap, styrofoam, and a heavy duty box and then shipped via FEDEX Gnd Home Delivery. Thank you for your consideration.
