2) Adjust cuff's position and tightness, neither too tight nor too loose
3) Sit up straight, avoid compressing the abdomen, legs uncrossed and feet on the floor
4) Rest your elbow on the table and position your wrist at the same level of your heart
5) Avoid unnecessary movements or talking while taking your BP
6) Avoid food, caffeine, alcohol, smoking, exercising, medications and bathing for 30 minutes prior to measuring
6) Sitting quietly for 5 to 10 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure
7) Wait at least 10 minutes if you want to repeat the measurement
