    Description

    History:
Brian Reinhardt was an Army air corps mechanic during WWII. After the war he developed an interest in flint knapping.  With his mechanical expertise he developed a method of sawing slabs on a lapidary saw then using a lever and fulcrum system he invented he would flake the blades. Brian worked up into the 1970's and everything he made was from Edwards plateau Flint, hence the name "Gray Ghosts". he did not sell to individuals but rather wholesaled to the rock shops and tourist stops mostly along Route 66. Today his pieces have become a popular collectible. But he also inspired a number of other knappers to try to copy his techniques with their own flair.
We are interesting in buying any artifacts from the Northern High Plains and Western States
    About this Item:
Please read the history above. This is a nice big "Gray Ghost" Paleo Spear Inspired by Brian Reinhardt from Edwards Plateau material. This one has a unique "Eden Like" diamond cross section with medial ridge and parallel flaking. A very interesting piece.
There is no place that has as many fake artifacts for sale as eBay and many of these have COA's with them. The most prolific COA's are mostly on fakes. We and a very small handful of other dealers are committed to selling only genuine relics. For that reason we refuse to sell artifacts with COA's from many of these authenticators. The only people who's opinions I trust enough to recognize their COA's are the following: Ben Stermer, Dwain Rogers, Jerry Dickey, Bill Jackson, Greg Perino, Jim Bennett and Carlos Tatum.
