Brass Cattle Neck Tag #47 - Livestock - 47th birthday present sheep goat number

Neck tags # 47 in heavy brass.   Both sides are shown in the photos. Dimensions are 3" by 2". These tags are engraved (both sides) rather than stamped and they appear to have been engraved free-hand or with a crude pantograph as some of the numbers are not perfect matches.   The out-of-round hole gives away past use on the farm.  These tags were found in an old metal bucket inside a barn in southern Indiana.   When new, the engraved numbers were black.   The tag has been cleaned, but not buffed or polished and is ready to use.   I have few split rings and if you want one just ask at checkout using the 'LEAVE SELLER A MESSAGE' feature and hit  'ADD'.  Ships for .75 via USPS.
