    Black Angus Cattle
Mint set of 4 stamps issued in 1973 to
commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding
introduction of Scottish Black Angus Cattle to the United
States. George Grant transported four Scottish
    Black Angus
cattle from Scotland to his ranch on the Kansas Praire in
1873. He crossbred the bulls with native Texas Longhorn
cattle and produced a superior breed of hornless black calves
that wintered well on the Kansas prairie.
These stamps are 48 years old and post office fresh.
Each set of 4 stamps includes a protective stamp mount,
suitable for framing or for mounting in your scrapbook.
