Logic gates are the basic building blocks of all digital devices & computers; they're what CPUs use to make decisions & store memory. Understanding them is essential as a first step to understanding the binary system that make all computers possible.
This kit is designed for beginners new to electronics & computing; you don't need to know a whole lot about electronics to get started. However this design is the next step after the
Logic Gates (Switches) Kit
. In that previous kit, we learned how simple push button switches are used to make logical decisions in Binary. Now in this kit, we progress on to Transistors (or electronic switches) to make those same decisions in Binary; just like how a CPU or Integrated Circuit uses Transistors to function. Also like the previous kit, the circuits are visually laid out on the board to help visualize the Logic Gates in action.
This kit will need to be soldered but all of the through-hole components will be a good kit to practice soldering if you're new to it (the USB power connecter is presoldered).
A digital manual is provided for assembly instructions & education about how the circuits work.
