AR Stereo Remote Control with Tape Loop, SILENT, Exc, Acoustic Research - RARE.
This is a unique item and a must have for vintage audio enthusiasts.
It adds Volume Control via wireless remote.
It also adds via remote:
Power On/Off
EPL On/Off (tape loop for added processors or whatever gear)
Mute
Balance
Sleep Timer
I have 3 of these but I only need 2, so I’m letting this go.
It is a very well-made unit and unlike other similar rarities, the AR-SRC is the ONLY SILENT ONE. It doesn’t add any noise to the signal!
There are several ways to hook it up. Have a look and the awesome array of hookup options on the back.
I have mine setup btwn Pre-Amp and Amp.
I then have all my processors hooked up to the EPL section of the AR-SRC because I can turn On/Off EPL section when using the AR-SRC. In other words, if I wanna just listen pure no effects, I turn EPL off. If I want my dynamic range expander, Sonic maximizer, noise reduction, subharmonic synyhesizer, Hughes AK-100 SRS surround module on, I can turn all of it on from my sofa by hitting EPL On via the remote! And I can adjust
volume!!!
It also ADDS A SWITCHED OUTLET so you can power on other gear!
Anyhow you get the idea.
This is a rare item - especially with the remote. You can program another remote if you want to keep the original remote safe (that’s what I did).
Again, there are other units but none of them have all of the features that this unit has but more importantly, NONE of them are SILENT. They all add noise or some distortion. The AR-SRC doesn’t.
