Antique Ottoman Turkish Embroidered Linen Brass Studded Sash Cuff Trim
This antique Ottoman period Turkish embroidered linen brass studded sash cuff trim dates from the 1920s. It is made of a homespun woven linen fabric with colorful chain, cross stitch, crewel hand embroidery work done in decorative geometric shape abstract designs and hand applied gold metal brass stud accents. This stunning textile lot includes 4 pieces with matching embroidered decorative designs, all trimmed in a newer gold lace trim edging, two have a scalloped edge resembling sleeve cuffs and the other two are long strips perhaps a cut sash belt or dress trim and are backed in cotton. The cuffs measure 13 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide and the strips are each 21 inches long, 1 inch wide. It is in good as-is condition with only some frays along the edging and a a few loose missing brass studs. This is truly a wonderful one of a kind piece of Ottoman Turkish textile art!
