    Description

    This is a dark gray hard stone flat axe or adze head that is 5 5/8" long, 2 3/8" wide, and 1" thick. It has a small ridge about 1/3 of the way from the base for hafting, and the entire head is slightly curved. The bit is highly polished and fairly sharp, and the end is heavily pecked. There are a few small chips on the bit, as pictured. There is an old collection tag on one side. This artifact looks like it has seen a fair amount of use.
