This strand of beads measures approximately 17” when laid out, so technically it’s a 34” strand if it were not tied. There are hundreds of them and they were in the infamous Art Gerber Collection of Tell City, Indiana. He was a famous Collector and was an author. These have his catalog number (AG.SB170). The vast majority of his relics were from Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky, specifically from sites along the Ohio River. These are very small beads and are well preserved. I stopped counting at 100 beads and that was a small stretch, I would guess there’s somewhere around 600 if not more...
